Standard Specification for Aluminum Bronze Rod, Bar, and Shapes
This specification establishes the requirements for rods, bars, and shapes of aluminum bronze with Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C61300, C61400, C61900, C62300, C62400, C63000, C63020, C63200, C64200, and C64210. Products shall be produced in tempers HR50, M10, M20, M30, O20, O25, O30, O32, TQ30, TQ50 and TQ55. Products shall be tested and shall conform to dimensional (mass, diameter, length, thickness, straightness, and edge contour), mechanical (tensile and yield strength, Rockwell hardness, and elongation), and chemical composition requirements. Products should also meet requirements under the mercurous nitrate test, ammonia test, and piston finish.

C63200

ASTM B150: C63200 is an American grade of nickel aluminum bronze. Containing around 9% aluminium, 5% nickel and 4% iron the alloy offers an inherent high strength and hardness combined with a very good toughness and an excellent resistance to wear, shock, and abrasion. In addition, C63200 has low magnetic permeability, making it ideal for use on instrumentation systems and seawater piping systems, and also offers very good corrosion, erosion, and cavitation resistance in seawater along with high retention of mechanical properties at low and elevated temperatures.

An American nickel-aluminum bronze with a unique combination of properties resulting in high strength, good fatigue, and excellent corrosion resistance in seawater.
C63200 benefits from a quench and temper heat treatment to enhance mechanical properties. The heat treatment was developed to maximise the corrosion resistance in seawater where it is used extensively in marine defense applications. Its non-sparking and wear properties make it an excellent choice for weapon handling systems.
The alloy has a proven track record having been incorporated in the US submarine build program for many decades and has now been used for wider applications, within commercial marine and petrochemical industries.
This is a wrought alloy that benefits from extreme consistency in properties, fine uniform grain structure, and low-cost volumetric inspection. Furthermore, representative test pieces are taken giving an accurate analysis of properties from the material to the component.
